Papalote Creek Wind Farm
Rising
from the farmland of San Patricio County, Papalote Creek Wind Farm
complex is a two-phase project consisting of 87 Siemens 2.3 MW turbines
and 109 Vestas V82 1.65 MW turbines capable of generating nearly 380
MW. Papalote Creek is E.ON’s first coastal project, as well
as
our first US project using Vestas wind turbines, providing enough clean
wind power to supply about 114,000 American homes while avoiding more
than 684,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and saving half of a
billion gallons of fresh water every year compared with a conventional
steam-driven fossil fuel plant.
