Sand Bluff Wind Farm
Located
in West Texas’ Sterling and Glasscock Counties, Sand Bluff is adjacent
to E.ON's Forest Creek and Panther Creek wind farms. Our first project
using Gamesa turbines, Sand Bluff can power about 27,000 homes while
avoiding over 162,000 tons of carbon emissions annually and saving
millions of gallons of water. Sited among working sheep and cattle
ranches, E.ON's wind turbines do their work next to the pump-jacks that
built Texas' reputation as an energy producing state.
Sand Bluff:
- Operational Date: January 2008
- Turbines: 45 Gamesa G87 2 MW Turbines
- Nameplate Capacity: 90 MW
- Other land uses: Cattle and sheep ranching, oil and gas production
